BY1OAK was founded in 2009 by two friends. In December 2022, we opened a new store next to our office. The BY1OAK store is a jewelry store located in the Jordaan in Amsterdam and also stocks a curated selection of our favorites. BY1OAK is growing and that’s why we are looking for ambitious colleagues to join our team!

You will be part of a small team, with plenty of room for creativity and ideas. At BY1OAK, you will work closely with the actual product. You will learn about materials, production and collections. You are able to develop your know-how of the jewelry industry and what it’s like to work in a creative and dynamic company.

Customer Care Coordinator

Position: Part-time or Full-time| 24 - 40 hours a week.
Starting date: preferably June / July 2026

About the role

At BY1OAK, our customer communication is a direct extension of the brand — personal, thoughtful, and consistent across every touchpoint. As a Customer Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing all inbound communication and shaping the customer experience across all channels. You are often the first point of contact and play a key role in how customers experience and connect with BY1OAK. You combine strong communication skills with a structured approach, ensuring both customer interaction and related processes are handled with care and accuracy. We value people who take initiative, think ahead, and enjoy being part of a small and evolving brand.

What you will do

- Manage all inbound communication (email, social media, and phone)
- Respond to customer inquiries in a personal, clear, and brand-aligned way
- Ensure a smooth process from purchase to after-sales
- Handle returns, requests, and customer issues with care and attention
- Maintain consistency in tone of voice and communication style
- Develop strong understanding of our products, materials, and collections to support customer communication
- Support operational follow-up and customer-related processes
- Maintain overview and structure in customer communication and order flow
- Identify opportunities to improve the customer journey and communication

Who you are

- You have experience in customer service, communication, or a similar role 
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills
- You are fluent in Dutch and English
- You are structured, organized, and detail-oriented 
- You have a natural sense for tone, language, and brand communication 
- You are customer-focused, patient, and solution-oriented 
- You are proactive and comfortable in a dynamic environment 
- You are comfortable combining communication with administrative accuracy
- You have an affinity with fashion, retail, or lifestyle brands

Store manager

Position: Full-time | 32 - 40 hours a week.

About the role

At BY1OAK, our store is an extension of the brand — a place where product, atmosphere, and personal service come together. As a Store Manager, you are responsible for the overall experience and performance of our store in the Jordaan. You lead the team, set the tone on the floor, and ensure that every detail — from customer interaction to store presentation — reflects the BY1OAK brand. You are hands-on, present on the shop floor, and naturally take ownership. While your focus is the store, you stay connected to the atelier and product, ensuring alignment across the brand.

What you will do

- Lead and support the store team, setting the standard for service and attitude
- Create a warm, personal, and consistent customer experience
- Take ownership of daily store operations and performance 
- Maintain the overall look and feel of the store 
- Guide team members in product knowledge and service
- Build strong knowledge of collections, materials, and brand story
- Ensure smooth communication between store and atelier where needed.

Who you are

- You have retail experience (minimum 2 years), ideally in a premium store environment
- You have a strong sense of aesthetics and detail
- You are customer-focused and lead by example
- You are communicative, positive, and reliable
- You are fluent in Dutch and English
- You are based in (or near) Amsterdam
- You are available on Saturdays

About the role

At BY1OAK, everything revolves around creating refined, handmade jewelry with a strong focus on craftsmanship, quality, and experience. From our atelier in Amsterdam, we develop collections that are truly one of a kind. Our atelier is at the heart of the brand, where product, craftsmanship, quality control, and the daily processing of our jewelry come together. As a Store & Atelier Assistant, you work across both the store and atelier, supporting the daily operations of the brand. You are closely involved with the product and contribute to both the in-store customer experience and the operational flow behind the scenes. This is a versatile and hands-on role for someone who enjoys variety, works accurately, and feels comfortable switching between customer interaction, operational tasks, and working closely with jewelry and materials.

What you will do

Store
- Welcome and assist customers in a warm and personal way
- Advise customers on products, styling, and gifting
- Help maintain the overall look and feel of the store
- Support daily store operations and organization
- Develop a strong understanding of our collections, materials, and craftsmanship

Atelier
- Process and pack online orders with care and precision
- Support returns, product checks, and operational workflow
- Help maintain a structured and organized atelier environment
- Ensure products are handled according to quality standards
- Gradually become involved in the handling and preparation of jewelry within the atelier

Who you are

- You enjoy both customer interaction and operational work
- You are structured, accurate, and detail-oriented
- You have a strong sense of service and aesthetics
- You are proactive, reliable, and hands-on
- You enjoy working closely with product and craftsmanship
- Experience in retail or a customer-facing role is a plus
- You are fluent in Dutch and English
- You are based in or near Amsterdam
- You are available on Saturdays

Our atelier is at the heart of the brand, where product, craftsmanship, quality control, and the daily processing of our jewelry come together.
As an Atelier Assistant, you will work behind the scenes and support the daily handling of our jewelry and orders.
You ensure that every product is processed with care and accuracy, contributing to a smooth and consistent operational flow. Over time, you will become increasingly involved in working with our jewelry and materials, supporting the preparation and finishing of products for both stock and customer orders.

What you will do

- Process and pack online orders with care and precision
- Ensure product quality before shipment
- Handle returns, repairs, and product checks
- Maintain a structured and organized atelier environment
- Support daily atelier operations and workflow

Who you are

- You are accurate, structured, and detail-oriented
- You enjoy working closely with product and craftsmanship
- You have a hands-on and practical mindset
